Baphuon Temple

Baphuon Temple, Angkor Thom, Cambodia – 2018. Baphuon Temple was built in the mid-11th century as the state temple of Udayadityavarman II dedicated to the Hindu God Shiva. It is a multi-tiered pyramid representing the mythical Hindu Mount Meru and is located in the centre of the city that existed before Angkor Thom. In the late 15th century, the Baphuon was converted to a Buddhist temple.
